September 2000-William just turned 72 years old in July, and finally received some of his medals from Korea in August 2000! Unfortunatley, it's not over. June 2000- Well, William got his wish alright, to see the Korean War Memorial in DC and also attend the reunion - all in the same vacation! But good thing he missed me falling on my butt at the memorial in DC! I was busy trying to take pictures of him. ( He just moves around too fast!) I finally caught him standing still when I focused the camera and decided to step back. Oops! Ed wrote, "I hope the fruit salad is right!" THe event was televised on PBS, Memorial Day evening. The program name, Memorial Day Concert. A great show in my opinion. There was alot of air time about Korea, Chosin Reservoir and the story of the 31st RCT, the convoy, Ed's personal story - surviving against the cold and the Chinese.
